Electronic grade antistatic tape material composition

• Substrate: Polyester (PET), polyimide (PI) and other materials are usually used as the substrate. PET, for example, it has good mechanical properties, such as high strength, good toughness, and dimensional stability, can be in different environmental conditions to maintain the shape and performance unchanged.PI substrate of high temperature resistance is more prominent, can adapt to high temperature electronics manufacturing environment.
• Adhesive: the adhesive is mostly acrylic or rubber. The advantages of acrylic adhesives are high transparency, good weather resistance, a variety of materials have good adhesion. Rubber adhesives have high initial adhesion and flexibility, and can be well adhered to the surface of objects of different shapes. Moreover, special anti-static agents are added to these adhesives to give the tape overall anti-static properties.
• Antistatic Coating (partially available): Some electronic grade antistatic tapes are coated with a layer of antistatic coating on the surface. This coating generally contains conductive metal particles (e.g., silver, copper, etc.) or conductive polymers that can quickly conduct static electricity away from the tape, further enhancing its antistatic capabilities.

• Anti-static performance:Its surface resistance and volume resistance are generally within a specific anti-static range, for example, the surface resistance is usually between 10⁵ - 10¹²Ω, which can effectively prevent the accumulation of static electricity. When static electricity is generated, the tape can release the static electricity slowly, avoiding the damage caused by the sudden release of static electricity to the electronic components, such as the breakdown of the chip.
• High cleanliness:In the electronic manufacturing environment, the cleanliness requirement is very high. Electronic grade anti-static tape undergoes strict cleaning treatment during the production process, which does not produce particles, fibers and other pollutants, avoiding the pollution of electronic components and the production environment.
• Good adhesion:With proper adhesion, it can be firmly pasted on the surface of electronic components, circuit boards, etc., and when it needs to be removed, it will not leave too much residual adhesive, which is convenient for the maintenance of electronic equipment and replacement of parts.
• Temperature resistance and chemical resistance:Can be used normally in a certain temperature range, generally can withstand temperature changes from - 40 ℃ to 120 ℃. At the same time, some common electronic chemical reagents, such as alcohol, acetone, etc. have a certain degree of resistance, will not lose anti-static properties or adhesion due to contact with these reagents.
