How to effectively prevent static electricity

ESD hazards to the chip computer consist of boards, and today's boards are mostly manufactured using MOS technology, and their circuits are quite sensitive to electrostatic high voltage. When a person or object with static electricity touches these devices, electrostatic discharge (ESD) will be generated. When the electrostatic high voltage impacts the MOS circuit, its internal oxide film will be broken, destruction, resulting in electrical parts on the spot being damaged or working improperly. Of course, the general electrostatic discharge of the device does not immediately fail, which is the reason most people do not pay attention to ESD.

To this end, international organizations have developed a corresponding standard, the ESD caused by electrical failure is divided into the following categories:

Measures to eliminate ESD

  1. Proper grounding of a computer now comes with a ground, the ground and the AC line of the fire and ground at the same time connected to two small capacitors, grounding state is not good for more sensitive people, just touching the chassis metal will have the feeling of electric shock (only 110W, the current is very small). And the chip can be subject to a voltage capacity much less than 110V, so if the computer equipment (such as hosts, printers, monitors, etc.) is not all grounded, the print port and display card will be damaged.
  2. Chip, board shipping packaging manufacturers generally attach great importance to ESD, computer accessories in the factory will be used before the anti-static packaging bags. The insulation performance of good packaging materials is prone to ESD, such as bubble-type plastic bags, foam, etc., these materials are not suitable for packaging computer accessories.
  3. operation or maintenance staff of their own electrostatic treatment as computer operators should always bear in mind the hazards of ESD, try to avoid touching the computer's internal boards, if you must contact the internal wiring, and also add grounding rings on the fingers.
  4. Workplace electrostatic treatment of conditional workplace should use an anti-static floor (Note: walking on all kinds of carpets are prone to high voltage electrostatic if the indoor humidity is too low is also prone to electrostatic), and the ideal humidity should be 40%-60%.
